Ear Reshaping

People with prominent ears are sometimes teased, particularly during their school years, and this can lead to a loss of self confidence.  Relatively straight forward, Otoplasty is one of the oldest cosmetic procedures.

Pinnaplasty or Otoplasty is an operation which removes skin and adjusts the shape of the cartilage from behind the ear. The procedure can be carried out under local anaesthetic, but in young children a general anaesthetic is usually required.

A small protective dressing is usually worn after the surgery until the stitches are removed usually five to ten days after surgery.  There is normally no scarring as the incision marks would be concealed in the natural creases behind the ear.
